Traits to Differentiate Lineages and Subspecies of Aegilops tauschii, the D Genome Progenitor Species of Bread Wheat

چکیده

Aegilops tauschii Coss., the D genome donor of hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), is most promising resource used to broaden genetic diversity wheat. Taxonomical studies have classified Ae. into two subspecies, ssp. and strangulata. However, molecular analysis revealed three distantly related lineages, TauL1, TauL2 TauL3. TauL1 TauL3 includes only tauschii, whereas both subspecies. This study aimed clarify phylogeny find traits that can differentiate between TauL3, or We studied morpho-physiological in 293 accessions covering entire range species. A total 5880 high-quality SNPs derived from DArTseq were for phylogenetic cluster analyses. As a result, we observed wide variation each lineage Despite this variation, no key discriminate lineages subspecies though some significantly different. Of 124 previously lacking passport data, 66 allocated 57 TauL2, one

Dissecting miRNAs in Wheat D Genome Progenitor, Aegilops tauschii

As the post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression, microRNAs or miRNAs comprise an integral part of understanding how genomes function. Although miRNAs have been a major focus of recent efforts, miRNA research is still in its infancy in most plant species. Aegilops tauschii, the D genome progenitor of bread wheat, is a wild diploid grass exhibiting remarkable population diversity. Due t...

Responses of above and below-ground traits of wheat wild relative (Aegilops tauschii) and bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) to imposed moisture stress

The narrow genetic variation of bread wheat is one of the limitations to improve it for drought-tolerance. The research carried out to study the responses of different genotypes and traits to imposed moisture stress. The plant material comprised of 10 Aegilops tauschii accessions as well as a tolerant (BW2) and a susceptible (BW1) bread wheat cultivar. To assess the root and shoot-traits, two s...

SNPing Aegilops tauschii genetic diversity and the birthplace of bread wheat.

Towards the end of World War II, McFadden & Sears (1946) published a lengthy and classic paper on the origin of hexaploid or bread wheat. In the appendix to this paper they acknowledged that Kihara (1944) had also independently identified Aegilops tauschii (syn. Ae. squarrosa, Tritcum tauschii) as the D-genome donor of bread wheat. Since then, there have been many studies on the taxonomy, biolo...

Hybrid assembly of the large and highly repetitive genome of Aegilops tauschii, a progenitor of bread wheat, with the MaSuRCA mega-reads algorithm.

Long sequencing reads generated by single-molecule sequencing technology offer the possibility of dramatically improving the contiguity of genome assemblies. The biggest challenge today is that long reads have relatively high error rates, currently around 15%. The high error rates make it difficult to use this data alone, particularly with highly repetitive plant genomes. Errors in the raw data...
